But here's a quick-n-easy chart —i.e., PRETTY PITCHERS—and story that uses a poll about socialization via brain wiring to reflect on why we have the current polarized mess in Washington:
Explaining The Debt Ceiling Debate
We stand for Honor, Equality, Affinity, Representation, and Truth. We stand for Security, Opportunity, Universality, and Liberty. We are the HEART and SOUL of America. We are Democrats who simply believe in real democracy.
I wonder if Democrats are too ready to compromise?
ReplyDeleteSo you arrived in Nevada County...wish you would have stayed in your own little So Cal world of progressives. We, who have lived in NC for YEARS do NOT welcome people who think they have the right to call any people who live here idots, like you do! Not a good way to influence people and make friends,

"I recently moved to Nevada County and have been delighted with the wonderful music, arts, festivals and fairs here, and the pleasant lack of chain store overload. It's a beautiful place with lots of very nice people.
As long as I don't bring up politics.
I'm in favor of diversity of opinion and I welcome learning from knowledgeable conservatives with views opposite from my progressive ones. When we're reasonable the conversation is good for both of us and for others hearing or participating. But when I read “Letters” in this newspaper I find far more wild claims and completely unsupported beliefs than I've ever read in any newspaper where I've lived before.
I know there's no way I can use reason to argue with some of these idiots, and I know that my one vote will cancel out only one of theirs. So, I'm adopting the idiot who claimed Democrats are still in charge of federal government as the voter I'm specifically canceling next election.
I urge all progressives and reasonable independent folk to also “Adopt An Idiot” when they see one. On voting day, there may be just one more of us than them. Best we can hope for." The Union
Anonymous must be one of the idiots.
